Why “The Serenity Celebrant”?

Serenity: A state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled. These are the vibes I bring to your wedding day. The feeling you get when you’re looking out over a beautiful landscape, laughing with friends, hugging your family, petting your dog? The feeling you get when you’re surrounded by what matters, in a beautiful location, able to be in the moment and feeling a profound sense of belonging, happiness, hope and contentment. That is the serenity you should feel on your wedding day.

In a world where planning a wedding can be hectic and stressful, the culmination of your time and effort is standing up in front of your loved ones to marry your love. In this moment I will time to stand still, I help you be present and enjoy this moment.

There will be no stress, there will be no more decisions to be made, there will be only peace, happiness and joy. There will be Serenity…. And then you’ll get to party the night away!

What I Avoid In My Wedding Ceremonies

I love all the wonderful things you can do for your wedding ceremony, but there are some things that make me cringe, that aren’t my style, or that can be risky to yourselves, myself, your guests, or my equipment. Here are things I avoid and either don’t do, or make contingency plans to avoid:

  • Long ceremonies in the heat of summer with no shade (I have a duty of care to you and your guests!)

  • Crude humour and course language- it’s not that I get offended or don’t see how this can add to your ceremony, I’m just not the kind of person who can deliver this while remaining smooth and cool

  • One person’s vows being much longer than the other’s

  • Presuming one person is taking the other’s last name and pronouncing you as a couple incorrectly

  • “Who gives this person to be married” (giving away)

  • Celebrant comedy show/ performance (I’m no stand-up!)

  • Meaningless readings

  • Short, generic vows. Gimme all the happy tears! I’ll help you write your personal vows

  • Celebrant in the kiss shot

Ceremony Loves

Making your ceremony truly about you is all I want! I work tirelessly to make sure your ceremony, no matter what inclusions you choose, is truly about YOU, and only you. Here are some things that I resonate with:

  • Unique locations

  • Acknowledging loved ones who couldn’t make it

  • Walking down the aisle with more than one person

  • Fun rituals/games

  • Surprise ring bearers or witnesses

  • Both parties making an entrance/ walking down the aisle

  • Songs you can dance to during the ceremony

  • Fur babies involved
